The Evolution of Neural Networks

The original idea goes back to the 1940s and two US researchers, McCulloch and Pitts. They looked at how the brain works in terms of a network. And then you said, oh, it wasn't quite like that. It was software. But what is the software that makes a neural network? What does it look like? So you've got large numbers of littleSoftware components, artificial neurons. Each of these is receiving inputs. It's talking to a whole bunch of other neurons. These are feeding its signals, basically. And they're just software signals in a piece of software.
