Transmission between two regions of the brain gets faster as we get older. The upper limit in this study was 54, so we don't know if that happens forever. It might be because the Mylin sheath on our brain cells speeds up their electrical signals. Or it could just be a matter of getting thicker and more effective at communicating with each other.
