Rafael Trujillo's Rise to Power

Rafael Trujillo was a dictator in the Dominican Republic. After he took office, sugar prices fell through the floor and more than 2,500 people were killed by a hurricane. The city of Santa Domingo had been divided into different neighborhoods based on job and social class.
