The Role of Images in Bergson's Metaphysics
The role of images in Bergson itself is a problem for people who don't know what Bergson means by image. It's not just an analogy between two metaphors it's that there's a kind of complexifying process but that you can only be experienced or lived, he says. He doesn't want to say there's a special force for life because to him that wouldn't make sense so there would be like this kind of complexity that would only appeal to life and nothing else. I think we can at least deal with the three eyes which I talked about before we started recording the three eyes and how science moves forward and intellect always wants to deal with discontinuities on some level
