What Is a Civil Constitution?
There should be a distinction made between these being effectively like a constitution and the articles for the structure of relations within states. The whole issue with providence is an argument for why we think this might be reasonable, which is distinct from it being a principle for going forward. And so he ge us into a very montescuan account of what a republic is. He tells us there are these three principles for a republican constitution: freedom, dependence on common legislation and legal equality as citizens.
