The Bush White House also got a hold of our government work history and began circulating the fact that she'd been fired from a previous job. In their book Strange Justice, Jill Abramson and Jane Mayer reported that Senate Democrats became frightened of Wright's checkered employment record. It seems all the more unbelievable to me now than it did then that Joe Biden did not call her to testify. She was literally waiting in the winds. That was it.
