Major Depressive Episode - Treatment Resistant?
A major depressive episode is diagnosed in individuals that have five or more of the following symptoms for at least two consecutive weeks. It's not clearly attributable to another medical condition, uh, or in the context of like substance use. At least one of the symptoms has to be depressed mood or loss of interest - also known as anhedonia. And generally when people get diagnosed with this, we initiate treatment.
