The question is whether any society could last for any length of time without a sense of the divine at its heart. I don't think that secularism in this materialist, scientist, secular way in which as Phillips says we have to deny what we see in front of that face can last. The other thing that you miss is the relationship with Christ, which is the thing that Christianity is about. It's that kind of, okay, I'm going to try and follow this even though I'm not sure about everything.
