The importance of trade to the U.S. economy has been highlighted in a new book, The World's Most Powerful People: How Trade Can Revolutionize Our Economies. Scott Garrett says that when you open your economy to trade it increases living standards and creates opportunities for innovation. He argues that if companies want to grow they need to do so by trading with people outside the United States.
