The Republic of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania

The majority of inhabitants of the grand duchy of lithuania were orthodox slavs, who traditionally recognized the patriarch of constantinople as the chief authority. The idea of a republic in which power comes from below, the citizens have a say, they elect their monarch is really powerful and attracts not just the catholic lithuanians but the orthodox ruthenians. At lublin in 15 69, this vision comes into operation. And many of the polish lithuanian wealthiest elite are educated at the university of adua, which is the venetian university. They are the hope of republican europe.
