The zero in a group case is whatever the identity is. Everything has an inverse so if you do something and then it's inverse You get something in the group. morphism To have a rank or to have a kernel What does that even mean like what? The kernel is easier to describe. It's just like in the matrix case all the things that get sent to the zero.
