The Problem With Wishful Thinking
Apple uses something called vin locking which is prevalent across all kinds of sectors. It allows a device to query each of the parts that are that make it up and say hey were you installed by the manufacturer or their authorized representative. Apple has another weapon that it uses here to stop you from reverse engineering it which is a set of laws that we commonly call IP laws. breaking what's called digital rights management is a crime under the 1990 digital millennium copyright act even if no copyright infringement takes place.
