The Dream of Xenophon

Greece's Xenophon describes a battle with the Carducians in which they tried to cross a river. He says it was too deep for them to swim, so they decided to camp near the banks and sleep well that night. The next day two young men came running up to him asking if he would let them tell him about an old man who lived on the other side of the river.
