Less than 24 hours before he was scheduled to be incinerated. When the box arrived it was battered, travel stained and looked like it had been through way more than anything that I had seen in my deployments. But someone at US Customs had lovingly put his spilled beans back into him. And even when I went back to the office the little proof-of-life photo had been printed out and put up on the wall next to this free Paddington poster as we're waiting for him to be shipped home.
