The Importance of Thermal Spray in Coating Development

The needs of the substrate are really important as we do coating development beyond thermal spray, but just coating design in general. And so for the TBC, it's a thermal protection. As we've used those that had our 100 temperatures, the C-mass, the calcium, magnesium aluminum sulfates come into play. So now we're looking at a CMC, which is a ceramic snitress composite. It turns out that it doesn't really like water, but most of our environment is made of water. We have this great, lightweight, strong material that has an Achilles heel of water. and so what do we do about that? And so that's really where the EBC
