The History of the German Airborne Gliders

Husky was a steep learning curve for the Allies on the airborne all around musics. The Germans used gliders massively, but not necessarily in an assault way. They were very, very slow, very low targets and they were pretty much all shot down out of the sky by the RAF,. which is incredibly poor planning on the Germans behalf. Gliders were basically, they were the wartime equivalent of what we have now with helicopters - you think of Chinooks and all the others.
