The Importance of General Intelligence

Nick Bostrom has argued that machine super intelligence will be associated with significant existential risks, like the very survival of the human species. He also thinks that that will come soon after machine general intelligence. But what do we know about what general intelligence is? The laws of physics mandate their uncomprehensibility and it follows both from the universality of computation and the universalality of the human mind. You can't be more universal than universal. And if you understand that, which follows from physics and epistemology, then you know there can be no such thing as so-called superintelligence. We've already got that - capacity to understand anything that's understandable and everything is understandable.
