He was chiefly interested in america being strong. And part of the strength was, as said earlier, they the, generally speaking, less advantaged people had an adequate participation in the bounty of american life. You had to have a contented working class and a contented agrariam class. He didn't have any ambition other than making America stronger without unduly inconveniencing those who were the best off at the time.
