The Evolution of the Mudskippers

Mudskippers don't have tear glands or ducts like we do, which is what we are producing tears to keep the eye wet. They seem to use a mix of mucus from the skin and water from their environment that when it goes into the membrane, that's what's wetting the eye. And so all this seems to show that their blinks are extremely convergent, at least functionally, in why they're blinking to all their tetrapods,. us included.
