Music as a Medium of Value

I want to start with a recent essay that you have in the works on the idea of musical performances as a kind of medium of value. Can you talk a little bit about what this project is and how you kind of came to approach it? Well, that article is one of a bunch of things I've written in the last few years about value. And it was Steve Felde got me into this. He recommended a book called the Empire of Things that was edited by Fred Meyers at NYU. It really helped me understand and theorize the way in which music or anything can be thought of as representing or being a token of value.
