The IMF and World Bank's Lending History
The IMF's lending power stands at about a trillion dollars. The World Bank has more than $300 billion of loans scattered around the world. Poor countries in Europe relatively speaking failing and then getting bailed out. And when you look at individual countries what you see is that again their debt trap is inescapable.
Alex Gladstein is the Chief Strategy Officer at the Human Rights Foundation. He joins me for a deep dive into his upcoming book “Hidden Repression”. We discuss how the IMF and World Bank repress poor countries and funnel their resources to rich ones, and more.
