Is It Still a Ludicrous Question to Ask?

Google's bena forty eight is designed to replace the human brain. It can hold a conversation with itself, but has no memory of its last encounter. The engineer behind it says he considers himself like a gnostic or something. He thinks that if this thing could be conceived of as a person, why isn't everyone talking about it?
