The Power of Agency in Plays

If you look at Shakespeare, who has more agency, Lady Macbeth or Macbeth? I would say he has very little agency because he is just listening to what other characters tell him. You can even go secondary, secondary characters more agency than you would think. One of my favorite examples to come across is if you have a butler who's in the room, with the protagonist and one of the other major characters, and they're saying something the butler overhears it,. He then has a choice of what to do with that information.
