What we're going to try to do today is get into interwar Poland, and in particular interwar Poland's Ukrainian question. I'm going to start by setting a scene, and then we'll spend the rest of the lecture trying to figure out how that scene makes sense. So, here's the scene to imagine. It's December of 1933.
