Who we pick in our partnerships is directly indicative of how we related to in our earliest childhood experiences until we change that. I was abandoned by my biological father and neglected by my mother. My stepfather was dangerous. And so I picked from the time she was 14 until like her late twenties mid twenties, I would pick everyone I picked. They would have another significant other that I would later find out about they would of course leave me for over and over and over. But why was that happening? Because my system was saying, this is what love is. This is what it looks like. It's an early view. The good news is healing is the most empowering thing we can do.
