In 1960, he enters an invite only cosmonaut selection process. He's just one of 18 pilots chosen out of 3000 people who have been invited to try out men. His fellow cosmonaut Yuri Gagarian becomes the first person ever to enter space. And then Vladimir becomes the third highest paid cosmonaut by 1962.
