Why the Universe Hasn't Run Down?

The universe in which we find ourselves is not infinite, because if it were infinite, it already would have reached heat death. The very fact that you haven't got a universal running down yet means that the universe came into existence a finite period of time ago. And so this doesn't necessarily require an appeal to any existence, to the existence of god at all.
