'I was the pillar of the pub. Without me, it just couldn't go on,' he says. 'Alcohol brought me to a stage where I really thought a bar or a pub in Ireland wouldn't be able to get on without me' He admits his drinking didn't interfere that much with any other life. But things came to a head in July 2001 when he went off and married another woman.
