i grew up in a community that had a lot of jewish people. We were jewish, but i had never been exposed to any kind of temple or i didn't know anything about my heritage really. My father left school in eighth grade to support his mother when his father died. And he was incredibly bitter, and was apparently rejected by his mother and his older brothers. When you are a child and the target of some one's rage a is you, something that you live with your whole life, you never completely unwind.
