Philanthropy and the Sacklers - Justice Versus Utilitarianism?
I've become a little more sympathetic now than I used to be to the argument that we should care about whether philanthropists are receiving status and respectability of legitimacy for their donations. Now I'm more sympathetic to the idea that these issues are all kind of bound up and they're really hard to separate. We might not be able to have those two totally separately. That's my best kind of steel man of the Rob Riche case. But I don't know if he would endorse it himself though.
