Relationships With Elders
I think it's we carry a great deal of reverence for our elders and enough respect for them to see them as the complete human beings they are. And i think part of what i have been reflecting on lately is that those elders from the southern freedom movement were able to diagnose the the issues and challenges before them with the tools they had. The addiction emerged out of these spaces because there just weren't the same type of tools to cope. It may be that we are looking at the same long term disease, but that we have a new set of tools to evaluate some of the the symptoms.
