- Wells Fargo (WF) shares soared after the firm laid out its first major update of a mid-term profitability target since regulators lifted an asset cap for the bank.The stock climbed to close 7.1% higher Tuesday, its biggest daily gain since last Nov. 6, when Donald Trump’s election win boosted financial stocks with expectations the president would ease regulation and juice the economy with his agenda.
- Walmart (WMT) is teaming up with OpenAI to enable shoppers to browse and purchase its products on ChatGPT, the retailer’s latest push to incorporate artificial intelligence. Users will be able to shop Walmart’s assortment directly on ChatGPT by clicking a “buy” button, Daniel Danker, Walmart’s executive vice president of AI, product and design, said in an interview. The catalog includes apparel, entertainment, packaged food and other products from Walmart and its Sam’s Club chain. Shares rose 5% on Tuesday, closing at a record high.
- Atai Life Sciences (ATAI) shares rose 11% in trading today along with stocks in several psychedelic medicine companies after a Republican state senator in North Carolina said at an event that his state could "lead the nation" in expanding military veterans' access to mental health drugs. “We have the people that are here and the retirees that are here that—if we can figure out how to establish it—we can lead the nation in this concept” said GOP State Senator Bob Brinson. “It’s a matter of figuring out how.”
