The selling thing is a two way thing. It's a relationship between here's my art and somebody else who wants it. You don't want to be using materials that are so expensive that you get like obsessed about using them, and you won't give yourself enough to use. If you're at the stage where you need to be doing quite a lot of drawings to practice on, you can start off on cheaper paper. But then there comes a point where the cheaper paper doesn't have the surface or the texture that you want. And by that stage, you've got enough experience to say, do you know what, I want to be working on something better here.
