Silicon Valley Bank's Dollar Deposit Value Is Declining
A year ago, Silicon Valley Bank bought $80 billion of securities at a really low interest rate. As interest rates started going up over the past 12 months, the value of their security dropped materially. And finally, they had to do about a $2 billion write down. The other thing that happened was the tech market started getting a lot quieter.
