Is Hermione Reluctant to Be Your Mom?
"I'm not going to be your mom," Hermione tells Harry in book seven. "The best way to broker this piece is to interpret their feelings and try to facilitate some conversation." In the books, boys assume that she's going to pack for them but then complain they don't fit anymore. The default of responsibilities should fall on me, I think girls are more likely to step out of gender roles.
