The Importance of Technological Maturity
An existential risk is commonly defined as just any event that prevents us from fulfilling our long-term potential in the universe. We have this obligation to ultimately become post-human, you know, to leave behind the human condition and replace it with this new and better post-human condition. This gets at the utilitarian aspect, to maximize value. You know, if you understand value is happiness, to create as much happiness as possible within the universe as a whole.
