How to Be More Adventurous in Music

As I've gotten older, I've focused more on trying to be more like technically objectively good at it. And I've probably swung too far in the direction of playing it safe. So something that I feel that I should actively work on now is try to be more adventurous, but like in the right way. Most of the time I'm concerned with just making something that the artist is going to feel like represents their sound.
