AJ is our resident contrarian to all things TypeScript. I think there are things that he likes about it, but for the most part, he likes JavaScript being lean and mean. Some of the syntactic sugar and some of those features to me at least make it more readable. There actually is a TC39 proposal out there on adding type annotations.
