In the summer of 2020 in the wake of George Floyd's murder and a mass consciousness raising many people across the country who are white begin to ask questions of themselves their lives their communities that they have not asked. A refugee muslim black man looking for it to buy land in Maine like what could go wrong. Charlie ends up being more willing to sell his land to a group of 200 African refugee Muslim farmers because of the popular conversation at the time I want to say that because the mass demonstration moment of the summer of2020 did play an outsized and pivotal role in each of the stories that I ended up finding over the course of this year 2022.
