How to Be a Product Manager at a Startup
I think there are some companies that want product managers that can do anything because it's really just the way you think about problems. So I don't think it's a requirement to have domain knowledge. For smaller startups it would be really good to have that domain knowledge as there's nowhere else to put you. And then in some cases these big companies would like to hire a very senior or director level product manager. But generally when I talk to other product managers like at LinkedIn the reason why we're here is that we can go from one product to another product and we're doing our rotation.
