Memucan advises that queen vashti be banished from the king's presence. She would lose much of her power and influence as a result. Vashti exists not as a companion for ahas uerus, but more as a symbol of his greatness and glory. How do you assess the aters of ahazuerus and vasti? Does the biblical text itself give us any clues as to its perspective upon them?
