Is the European Union a Neoliberal Vision?

The idea that you should be able cross borders was central, actually, to ludwig von miss way of thinking about how capitalism could be reorganized. But it wasn't central to the way of thinking for most of the new liberals i describe in my book. And so from the 19 thirties onward, it becomes a kind of truism that you can have all the benefits of economic globalization without having freedom of movement.
