The Japanese Plan to Release Balloon Bombs Over California

In 1945, the Japanese surgeon general Shirouishi planned to release balloons and bombs carrying plague-infected fleas over California coastal cities in an attack called Operation Cherry Blossoms at Night. The plan is hatched to develop a bomb that would release the plague into an enemy's population. It could be carried by aircraft launched from submarine aircraft carriers. And this really was a very serious threat. These planes could have fitted with these special ceramic bombs and used a bomb Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego.
