The Consequences of Drug Use

The official justification was that the communists had figured out how to brainwash, right? Like there were a bunch of Korean vets who came back and, you know, God forbid they were critical of the American government. They're like, how could good American soldiers say these things? And so we needed to do the same thing. That was really the driving justification for projects like MK Ultra. Which I guess is why it's so crazy now that we're finding ourselves in a situation kind of wanting and needing and finding use in those drugs that were originally deployed for those means.
