The Positives and Negatives of Being Gifted
There's no universally accepted definition of giftedness, but often children who have an advanced ability and potential are labeled gifted. The positive side is that it allows kids from all backgrounds to have access to accelerated learning. But there's still a tremendous amount that needs to be done to give all racial and ethnic backgrounds equal opportunities for access to gifted programs.
