How Does Saffron Improve Sleep?

Saffron has a calming effect on our nerves which makes it easier to fall asleep. GABA disinhibits parts of the brain and this is likely coming mainly from the serotonin urgic effects. If you have an overactive mind or stressful day something like saffron could really help. It's not necessarily going to make your sleep deeper per se but it will maybe make it easier to fell asleep and stay asleep.
