I know that when you're making a movie, the money is so important. We endured an extraordinary number of grant rejections precisely because if we want to return to the beginning of our conversation, it is very hard to summarized and prove without seeing. And I learned a lot as a maker in that process of rejection,. thinking about how do we translate our ideas to funding bodies? How do we explain what we are doing for an often non-trans adjudicating public? It was important to us to be paying people well and to be ethically oriented to what we had.
