The Negative Effects of General Relativity and Quantum Physics on the Universe

We still use Newtonian physics to calculate the path of baseball when you throw it or something like that. They're effective theories in that they give good predictions in certain situations. But what we're trying to do is understand the deep nature of the universe, then they're not philosophically true. The final goal is to get a description of the universe that we think mirrors what's actually happening out there.
