The Importance of Due Diligence
I think the level of diligence and effort should be commensurate with what it is that you're protecting. So if you have an embarrassing failure for a seed check that you write into a company that hasn't even hit the market yet, the question is, what are you trying to protect? You could get fooled very easily. If you had a multi-billion dollar acquisition, that embarrassment borders on fiduciary negligence at some point.
