If there was a sense that people were cheating and getting away with it, it may have increased their likelihood of cheating. You almost feel like you're missing out or maybe you're going to be penalized in a way because everyone else has a bit of an advantage. Now, the response to unfairness is not to then, I think, cheat, but these are some of the things that can contribute to academic integrity offenses.
